Ange: We've got a leak inside Spurs

Ange Postecoglou says there is “no doubt” there is a “leak” inside Tottenham – and there has been for “some while”.

The Spurs boss hit out after reports prior to Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Eintracht Frankfurt claimed Wilson Odobert had suffered another hamstring injury. The winger was an unused substitute for the game.

“There’s no doubt we’ve got a leak inside the club,” Postecoglou told reporters. “I don’t know why. It doesn’t help us.

“We’ve narrowed it down. I’ve got a fair idea where it’s coming from.

“It certainly doesn’t help us on game days. It’s sometimes half-truths and sometimes more.

“You’d like to think that everyone within our camp is working with us rather than against us.

“It’s been going on for a while. It started last year. We thought we had nipped it in the bud but it’s still consistently coming out at different times.”

When pressed on where he believed the leaks were coming from, he added: “It’s definitely not the players because for me the information that is getting out is…

“Look, I’ve always said, especially with medical information, I’m really careful.

“Even though we’re in the world of football and I know everyone thinks these things should be carte blanche in terms of information flow, I’m still very respectful in terms of medical records and how much information we actually give on certain things.”

Despite that, Postecoglou revealed he believes the leaks are not restricted to injury news and also confirmed Odobert was fine after his inclusion in Thursday night’s squad – and had trained ahead of Spurs’ Premier League return.

“He’s OK. With all the players who came back from long-term injury, we’ve taken a different approach,” Postecoglou revealed. “Wilson trained today [Friday] and we’ll see how he is.”

There was good news, too, regarding the condition of Dejan Kulusevski, who remains ruled out for the trip to Molineux to face Wolves – but could return to the squad for Thursday’s Europa League return leg in Germany.

“Kulusevski has trained today with the players who didn’t play last night,” said Postecoglou. “He looked really good. He’s not available this weekend, and he won’t start on Thursday because he’s been out for so long, but he’s looking good.”

Postecoglou again addressed criticism aimed at his captain Heung-Min Son, who was the subject of more negativity following his performance in Thursday’s first-leg draw. He was taken off 10 minutes from time, with Mathys Tel replacing him.

“He’s a huge influence for us on and off the pitch,” Postecoglou said. “He’s working hard for the team.

“Last night he played his part in creating a lot of opportunities. Our front three were really disciplined. He is hugely important to the club and what we are doing at the club.”

‘It’s never dull in N17’

Sky Sports News’ Michael Bridge:

“Just as we were wrapping up the broadcast section, Ange Postecoglou revealed there is someone at Tottenham Hotspur leaking information.

“This comes after reports surfaced yesterday afternoon Wilson Odobert was complaining of a hamstring issue, an injury that has hampered his first season at the club.

“Odobert was an unused substitute for last night’s Europa League game against Eintracht Frankfurt. This has been clearly going on for a while and the Tottenham head coach has had enough.

“When asked if the leak related only to injury issues, Postecoglou insisted it was ‘everything.’ All managers appreciate in 2025 that transfers, injuries, and hirings and firings will be picked up by journalists with their various sources, but Postecoglou’s issue seemed to be potential medical inaccuracies and handing information directly to an opponent.

“It’s never dull here in N17…”
