Updo? Down-do? Slick-back? How you wear your hair is last year’s question. What you wear in it is the opportunity du jour. Dakota Johnson proved as much when she stepped out for the Splitsville photo call at Cannes with a jewel tucked into her braid, immediately upping the accessory game for the entire festival.

For the occasion, Johnson wore a simple black dress with a diamond clasp in the back, which perfectly matched the diamonds in her hair: the Avoine head jewel from Boucheron’s Untamed Nature collection. It’s made of white gold and paved in diamonds, naturally. Johnson also sported the Vendôme Liseré stud earrings and ring, from the Vendôme collection.
On Instagram, her hairstylist Mark Townsend revealed that in addition to the jewels, Johnson’s hair is secured by Day Rate Beauty pins.
