Are you ready for the full moon in April 2025? We hope so, because this pink moon is all about renewal.
On April 12, at 8:22 p.m. Eastern, the full moon will reach its peak illumination and light up the night sky. Known as the Paschal moon, Easter moon, or pink moon, it’s not actually pink in appearance. Rather, it got its name from a bright pink wildflower that blooms around this time of year called Phlox subulata, also known as creeping phlox, moss phlox, or moss pink.
This April full moon represents the renewal that each spring brings and reflects all the new possibilities in our lives. Because it occurs in the air sign of Libra, the focus under it is on relationships, harmony, and balance. Libra shows us when our inner world needs to be brought back into balance.
This moon invites us to explore new ways of connecting with ourselves and others. Where have the scales tipped? Where have we pushed too hard? Where have we been too careless? How do we strike a balance between the things that drain us and the things that recharge us?
Full moons are always high points and endings, but they’re also times of enlightenment. They show us what we need to see and understand in order for the energy to change.
The Libra-Aries axis
While the moon is in Libra, the sun is in Aries. This is significant because Aries and Libra are on the same axis of the zodiac—Libra represents the collective we, while Aries is the sign of our ego. And when the full moon occurs, the sun and the moon are in exact opposition.
Put another way, Libra brings us the gift of balance through connection, while Aries ignites our self-awareness and inner fire, awakening our instincts and reminding us of the strength that we always carry within us—even when we don’t feel it. The ideal blend of these two energies is the one that creates space for relationships in which we feel whole and have room to be ourselves, while still supporting and understanding the other person.

What also makes this full moon so special is the fact that Venus, the ruling planet of Libra, goes direct on the same day. Venus has been retrograde since March 1, and that also changes at this time. Over the past six weeks, we may have felt the need to question relationships, or the dynamics and patterns that play out in our relationships. Perhaps we’ve felt called to break cycles that we keep playing out with certain people. That’s not always easy, but Venus has also been guiding us to listen to our inner voice with more compassion and reverence.
Venus is now ending this powerful retrograde journey under the Libra full moon, so we may call her lessons and wisdom to us more clearly and strongly. It’s possible we’ll gain clarity about what we really want in our partnerships and what we are ready to manifest in our lives.
