There may be a few more weeks of summer left, but Hailey Bieber is getting a head start to fall when it comes to her famous manicures. Over the past few months, the Rhode founder and new mom wore everything from fruit nails to acid green, but is now declaring it the unofficial start of autumn with her latest nail look.
In an Instagram story, Bieber showed off a new moody brown manicure with the caption “ready for fall over here” accompanied by the falling leaves emoji. In true Hailey Bieber-style, the mani appears to be a custom nail color featuring layered brown and gold shades with her signature long almond shape.
Upon further investigation, Bieber’s go-to manicurist Zola Ganzorigt confirmed that the look was indeed a custom mix of five different colors. “We officially entered the fall @haileybieber. Can’t tell you exact color because we mixed 5 different colors,” she wrote in the caption.
The shades and dimension of the golden brown color is very reminiscent butterscotch toffee—perfect for the warm and cozy vibes of fall, no?
Toffee is shaping up to be one of the most popular nail colors for fall. Earlier this week, Selena Gomez wore a toffee shade with square nails at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival. Gomez’s go-to manicurist Tom Bachik, who coined the name “toffee nails,” used Aprés Nail Light & Shadow Sheer Gel Couleur in shade Be Still, a light brown with beige undertones, to create the actor’s autumn nails. On Instagram, Bachik shared that he prepped the nails using Tweezerman nail tools and layered two coats of the Apres Nail polish to get the perfect semi-sheer finish.
