We need to talk about Jenna Ortega’s Met Gala 2025 dress, which was made out of metal rulers and one of the boldest looks of the evening.
On the Met Gala red carpet, there are so many A-listers present that it can be hard to keep up with all the eye-catching looks. When one stands out, like Ortega did with her dress, it’s a testament to its impact.

This year’s Met Gala 2025 dress code was “Tailored for You” and was interpreted by most through different suit variations and details like pinstripes, blazers, and large hats. There was one exception, though: Jenna Ortega.
The Wednesday and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice actor seems to have taken the word “tailored” literally and appeared in a futuristic silver-colored dress made from rulers. Created by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, the dress looks like it have been completely form-fitted to her body.
To match the metallic color of the dress, Jenna Ortega went with white gold diamond jewelry and a silver necklace. Her long hair was styled in Old Hollywood waves which, when combined with her smokey makeup, created a soft contrast to the statuesque dress.
