Jim Carrey slashes price of longtime LA home by $10 million

The sprawling Brentwood estate, which Carrey has called home for nearly 30 years, was originally listed for US$28.9 million in February 2023.

After multiple price reductions, including another US$1 million cut in May 2025, the property is now available for US$18.8 million according to People.

The two-acre property has experienced a tumultuous journey on the market, being temporarily delisted in August 2024 before returning a month later at US$19.8 million.

Records indicate a pending sale in December 2024, but the deal apparently fell through, forcing the property back onto the market.

Graham J. Larson of Sotheby’s International Realty currently holds the listing for the 10,954-square-foot ranch-style home, which features five bedrooms and six full bathrooms.

The estate boasts numerous luxury amenities including a tennis court, gazebo, sauna, and steam room.

A waterfall enhances the swimming pool, which sits adjacent to a pool house with a wet bar.

The property also includes a meditation trail leading to a dedicated platform.

Inside, the home features six fireplaces and a custom Art Deco theatre complete with a popcorn concession room.

The primary suite offers a balcony overlooking the lush gardens that surround the property.

The significant price reduction comes during Carrey’s self-described “power-resting” period from his acting career.

In April 2022, the actor announced he was taking a break from Hollywood after decades in the spotlight.

The current asking price represents approximately 65 per cent of the original listing price, reflecting the challenges in the luxury real estate market and possibly Carrey’s increasing motivation to sell the property he purchased back in 1994.
