Lorde summer is upon us, and weâre not talking about the new pope.
Lordeâs rare public appearance at the 2025 Met Gala was a clear indicator that the 28-year-old singer would be hitting the road. After all, the last time the New Zealand native attended the star-studded event was in 2021, just ahead of the release of her third studio album, Solar Power, and its supplementary tour of the same name.
Now, as Lorde gears up for the release of Virgin on June 27, the âWhat Was Thatâ singer has officially announced the highly anticipated news: The Ultrasound tour kicks off in September 2025. While the name of the tour does not mirror the albumâs, the poster art features a similar blue X-ray as the one from her album announcement on April 30.

âI am going on tour in support of my new album, Virgin,â Lorde wrote in an email to fans on May 8, per Pitchfork. âEvery show I play is a collaboration between you and me. We meet in a room and we make music together, our bodies and the machines in search of something bigger together. 12 years of meeting up and making sound thatâs just for us. Since last time Iâve been stripping away unnecessary layers, finding us more room to move. I think that Ultrasound could be our masterpiece.â

First of all, what do we know about Virgin?
Lorde hasnât shared too much since posting the album announcement at the end of April, though the first single, âWhat Was That?,â is a synth-pop banger. In a message on her website, Lorde said the album was â100% WRITTEN IN BLOOD.â
âTHE COLOUR OF THE ALBUM IS CLEAR,â Lorde wrote at the time, per Billboard. âLIKE BATHWATER, WINDOWS, ICE, SPIT. FULL TRANSPARENCY. THE LANGUAGE IS PLAIN AND UNSENTIMENTAL. THE SOUNDS ARE THE SAME WHEREVER POSSIBLE. I WAS TRYING TO SEE MYSELF, ALL THE WAY THROUGH. I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A DOCUMENT THAT REFLECTED MY FEMININITY: RAW, PRIMAL, INNOCENT, ELEGANT, OPENHEARTED, SPIRITUAL, MASC.â
