“We're happy with our current vendor.”
Why they say it. Happy often means not actively in pain, not genuinely delighted. It is also a loyalty signal and a shield against having to evaluate anything new.
Do not: Do not bad mouth the incumbent or imply they are wrong to be happy, which makes them defend the vendor harder.
That is great to hear, and honestly a vendor you are happy with is a high bar to clear, so I respect that. I am not here to pull you out of something that works, I would just want to be on your radar for the moment that changes, because it usually does eventually. When you think about renewal time, is there anything you would quietly want to be different?
Then ask. If your current vendor raised prices 20 percent at renewal, would you still call yourself happy, or would you start looking?
