Sonic SVM, the Solana-based blockchain gaming-focused Layer-2 infrastructure company, has announced the imminent launch of its long-awaited HyperFuse Node sale.
Through the sale, community members have the chance to snap up NFTs that give them the right to run HyperFuse Guardian Nodes and monitor the network for malicious behavior. In doing so, they’ll not only be able to help maintain the health of Sonic SVM’s network, but also earn regular rewards in the shape of Sonic tokens.
Sonic SVM, which recently raised $12 million in funding, has ambitions to become the foundation of Solana’s growing blockchain gaming scene with its infrastructure that supports the quick and easy creation of “game-specific rollups”. These are essentially dedicated Layer-2 networks for games that enable rapid transaction processing and low fees.
While Solana has emerged as a key force in DeFi, it hasn’t done so well in the gaming industry, where it faces competition from game-focused networks such as Oasys and Immutable X. However, Sonic SVM is convinced that Solana has the potential to become a major force in Web3 gaming thanks to its Sonic Virtual Machine-based Layer-2 infrastructure. It provides an easy way for developers to create their own SVM chains for any game.
One of the key advantages of Sonic SVM’s infrastructure is HyperGrid, a horizontal scaling framework on Solana that helps to boost the performance of SVM chains. HyperGrid enables developers to customize various features of their chains and support more versatile data formats. It also supports the use of various development tools, so developers can use their preferred tooling to create their virtual game universes. Other powerful capabilities pertain to traffic management and support for multiple payment systems, simple onboarding and rapid transactions.
HyperFuse Nodes
The HyperFuse Nodes play a key role in HyperGrid’s framework, overseeing transactions to ensure the honesty of the network’s validators. Through the sale, which launches this month, it’s opening the door for its vast community to participate in the project.
Perhaps the best thing about running a HyperFuse Node is the level of simplicity. All that’s required to get one up and running is a HyperFuse Guardian Node NFT and a simple laptop. The exact device specifications are 8GB of RAM, a 1-core CPU, and at least 1GB of available disk space – so basically, as long as your laptop can run a web browser, it should be able to run a HyperFuse Node.
Sonic SVM announced the sale will take place over three separate stages, beginning with the Raffle Stage, followed by a Whitelist Sale Stage and finally a Public Sale Stage that’s open to everyone.
The Raffle Stage will kick off first on 9/16 and run for 24 hours, during which time only Tier 1 NFTs will be sold. There will be 3,000 NFTs up for grabs in this stage, representing 6% of the total number of nodes, with an expected price of $155 per Node, assuming 100% participation in the sale. They’ll be available on nodpad.ai, Sonic SVM said
After the 24 hour period is up, the Whitelist Sale will begin in earnest, exclusive for whitelisted participants, covering Tiers 2-8 and available on node.sonic.game.
Finally, once that’s done, the Public Sale will begin on both node.sonic.game and nodpad.ai, during which everyone will have a chance to acquire a HyperFuse Node NFT through tiers 9 to 20. The actual cost of the NFTs in each tier will be dynamically priced based on the level of participation, but those interested can check out the expected prices here. Early birds – namely those who get lucky via the raffle and those who managed to get white listed, will be able to obtain their HyperFuse Nodes at a price that’s lower than the company’s Series A VC fully diluted valuation.
Sonic SVM said there are plenty of other good reasons to be excited about the sale, with node operators expected to earn increasingly lucrative rewards for their participation as the network grows. Already, Sonic SVM boasts a user base of over 2 million wallets, having processed more than 1.5 billion transactions to date. The network currently hosts more than 10 high quality games, and the community is optimistic this number will grow exponentially in the coming years.
Sonic SVM is also running a lucrative referral program with instant cashback and mining pool benefits for those who purchase a node, and – while not yet confirmed – it says node operators can also expect even more rewards via future airdrops.
Another good reason to acquire a HyperFuse Node NFT is that you don’t need to run the node yourself. It can simply be an investment, as NFT holders can delegate their NFT to someone else and earn a commission of up to 20%.
Sonic SVM co-founder and Chief Executive Chris Zhu said the sale represents a “groundbreaking opportunity” for the community to participate and benefit from its expected ecosystem growth. “We’re excited to open this door to our community members and partner ecosystems, allowing them to participate in the future of gaming and blockchain technology, and the beginning of a multi-SVM ecosystem on Solana,” he said.
