I need you guys to do me a favor. It’s an easy one. I need you to go to Jackie G’s Instagram Story and vote “Jennifer Lopez in Toronto” on her current poll. Jackie is a deaf woman who has made an art (and a career!) of lip-reading what celebrities are saying to one another, and I desperately need her to tell me what Lopez and Matt Damon were talking about when they had a deep discussion at the Toronto Film Festival. They were holding hands, that’s how serious this talk was.
Lopez, in case you’ve just awoken from a coma (welcome back! Google “demure”!), just filed to divorce from Ben Affleck, who is Damon’s longtime BFF. The singer-actor was at the festival to promote her new project Unstoppable, which was produced by Affleck and Damon. She looked absolutely gorgeous walking the red carpet solo, while Affleck skipped the premiere to stay in Los Angeles.

In pictures from the after party, which you can see on Page Six, Damon clutches Jennifer Lopez’s hand in support while she, we must assume, talks about Affleck. Damon’s basically nodding along. “Yup, yup, he’s totally moody,” he is saying, according to me. The outlet also reports that Affleck got dinner with Damon and his wife Luciana (who was also at the after party) days after the divorce filing.
Our most recent update on the sitch came from a source that spoke to People, saying that Lopez “did spend a lot of time making sure Ben was happy and had everything he needed…The way she cared for him was almost childlike…Friends constantly reminded her that she’s not responsible for his feelings. He’s very moody and dark at times. Jennifer appreciates life in another way. She’s very grateful for everything.” Damon and/or Jackie, please confirm!
