The Chiefs quarterback, whose wife seemed to out herself as a Trump supporter—for which the ex-president thanked her—would rather promote the overall concept of voting than say who he’s voting for.
“I don’t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,” Mahomes said, during a press conference when asked who he’d be voting for. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It is to inform people to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family.”

He also seemed to reference the small controversy that erupted over the Mahomeses hanging out with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at the US Open over the weekend, with many wondering how Swift (a Democrat, though she hadn’t yet spoken up about voting for Harris at the time) would pal around with Brittany Mahomes if she did, indeed, support Trump.
“Whenever I’m hanging out with whoever, I’m not thinking about their political views or anything like that. I’m thinking about the people and how they treat other people, and I was with a lot of great people this weekend,” he said.
