Pro-Hamas Group 'Abandon Biden' Morphs to 'Abandon Harris'

Presidential election years would be a darn sight quieter if political activism required a minimum IQ.

Of course, no such tests are required, and, yes, I kid – the First Amendment would prohibit that, and I’m as staunchly pro-First Amendment as anyone you’re likely to find. So we are instead required to take some of these groups at face value, which in many cases, isn’t very valuable at all. Case in point: The “Abandon Biden” pro-Hamas movement, which has now performed a lateral arabesque to become the “Abandon Harris” movement.

Yes, really.

The Abandon Biden campaign is relaunching and “intensifying” its campaign, this time focusing its efforts against Vice President Kamala Harris in key swing states.

The campaign released a statement on X last week, announcing that it is “ramping up efforts in key swing states to rally Muslim-Americans and their allies against the Harris-Walz ticket.”

“This action is a direct response to Kamala Harris’ support for the ongoing genocide in Gaza,” the Abandon Harris campaign said in the release.

See, there’s where that IQ test would have been helpful – maybe some brainier types would have looked up the definition of “genocide” because what’s happening in Gaza is not a genocide; it never was and never will be. In that conflict, let’s be honest, the genocidal tendencies are all on the other side. But these groups can be counted on to never let reality get in the way of a good rant.

But hey, they’re attacking Kamala Harris, so far be it from us to interfere.

Here’s the question – could this bunch make any real impact on the presidential election? That may be more possible than one would think at first glance.

The movement, which originated in the heavily-Muslim populated city of Dearborn, Michigan, first targeted the re-election campaign of President Biden during primary season, arguing that the president’s continued support for Israel made it necessary for the community to send a message to the Democratic Party.

Along with movements such as the “Vote Uncommitted” movement that bubbled up in Dearborn around the same time, the campaigns were able to get over 100,000 voters to cast uncommitted ballots during the Michigan primary earlier this year.

One hundred thousand uncommitted voters – although these people are about as likely to vote for Donald Trump as they are to suddenly and spontaneously teleport to a small planetoid in the Crab Nebula, that could still sting. In Michigan, for example, a swing state Kamala Harris is now leading Donald Trump in by a hair over a point in the RealClearPolitics average, those 100,000 votes might turn the tide. A vote not cast for Harris is still in effect a vote for Donald Trump, although it’s certain the Dearbornistan Caucus doesn’t understand that.

Here’s the thing: All of these “Abandon (insert Democrat candidate of your choice)” nuts could have their ceasefire right now. No action from any American president is required. Just convince every remaining Hamas fighter to lay down their weapons and surrender to the Israel Defense Forces, without condition and without reservation. Ceasefire achieved.

After all, there was a ceasefire in place before Hamas broke it by committing one of the most horrific, war-crime-and-atrocity-committing attacks in living memory. They started it, and Israel clearly aims to end it. And it’s for sure and for certain that Israel isn’t overly concerned with a bunch of loudmouths in Michigan.

In the meantime, well, if the Dearbornistan Caucus wants to organize to damage the Harris campaign, that is a gift horse we should look everywhere but in the mouth.
